About The Rudd Fund
Established in 2002, the Rudd Fund continues Rudd Mayer's work in renewable energy promotion. The Fund just completed a wind project at Thorne Ecological Institute in Boulder. Thorne has connected more than 30,000 kids to nature and now reaches them with the new wind program. It includes a wind energy exhibit, Skystream turbine, and a wind energy curriculum. Next year, we will expand the program to include education on all renewable energy sources!

About Thorne Ecological Institute
Since 2005, Thorne Ecological Institute has worked in partnership with The Rudd Fund at WRA and the Mayer Family to install the new wind program in memory of Rudd Mayer. For the past 53 years, the Institute has influenced over 150,000 people through diverse formats of teaching ecological principles and helping to establish various programs and organizations in Colorado. With a grant from the Rudd Fund, the Thorne Natural Science School now includes a wind energy curriculum and exhibit. The Rudd Fund is now moving from WRA to Thorne and is being renamed the Rudd Renewable Energy Education Fund to focus on educating school-aged children about all alternative energy sources.
About Western Resource Advocates
Western Resource Advocates' (WRA) mission is to protect and restore the Interior West's land, air and water. With the Mayer Family, WRA established the Rudd Mayer Wind Energy Fund in 2002 after Rudd passed away. This fund is moving to Thorne upon completion of the wind project there in September 2007. In 2005, WRA also received a generous gift from Rudd' estate to establish the Rudd Mayer Memorial Endowment Fund to help secure the future of WRA.
